A BRIEF HISTORY
Harvest Mission Bible College & Seminary is the fruit of the vision which the lord has given to Rev. Robert Mophet. After the theological training in India, God gave him an opportunity to study in Tabor College, Adelaide, Australia for 2 years. As he was studying there, in 1994, God gave him a vision to evangelize the nation by adopting different strategies based on the scriptures Isa. 58: 7-11. With much prayer, after 2 years, Harvest Ministries International was registered as charitable society (Regd. No. T992/96) in Kerala and started its function with an orphanage on 1-1-1997.
As God had given a great burden for the evangelization of India, understanding the need of giving Biblical training to the committed men and women, he started Harvest Mission Bible College in 1998. The college had originally begun to function in a rented place in Trivandrum with 5 students. The lord blessed the Bible College by bringing more students. The purpose of the training is to equip and send committed servants of God to the mission fields in North India. The first graduation service for B.Th. was held in January 2001. Those graduates were sent to the mission fields in Orissa to pioneer church planting ministry. In 2002, the bible college had moved to its own property and there on, it started to grow. By the grace of God, college could offer holistic training by placing equal importance to spiritual formation, academic learning and practical ministry exposure. This provided well balanced development to all students and mission orientation as well.
In 2003, Harvest Mission Trust was formed by the president with 5 board members, and brought the church ministry, bible college and public school under the trust. Harvest Ministries International stands as a sponsoring board for the functions of Bible College and other activities under the trust. By the grace of God we could see students from different states of India came and joined to study in this institution which transformed them to be part of mission in India. In 2010, M. Div. course commenced and also admission to women candidates were given. Separate hostel facilities have been built.
2012, is a golden year in the history of Harvest Mission Bible College and Seminary in which the courses B.Th. and MDv. Were accredited by ATA. (Asia Theological Association).
In the year 2017, college could lay another mile stone in the development of infrastructure by dedicating 4 digital class rooms. On 26th December of 2017, the new Chapel Hall was inaugurated by the Patron Rev. R. Rasalam. The lord has been enabling faculty from India and abroad to equip the men and women. This college equips the committed men and women to involve in the church planting ministry.
